Just youtubing living my life, Thanks
3s and Lean Improvements 16th May
I'm Jack, Innovator & business owner in the UK. I started my manufacturing journey in 2013, producing a small range of products made from sheet metal. As the the business and demand grew we faced many problems, defects, long production times, un-engaged work force and general chaos.
In 2018 after spending weeks trying to find management software or systems I discovered a Fastcap tour video that introduced simple version of Lean Manufacturing (ua-cam.com/video/jYby_HczyDA/v-deo.html). I saw a wonderful smooth running work place with engaged employees and wanted that for my own factory! So I quickly read Paul Akers book 2Second Lean! From there on we have been making small improvements every day.
I have a team of around 20 employees and we manufacture and ship 1000s of products per year. Each and every day we 3S (Sweep - Sort - Standardise) our work place and make daily improvements to make the job easier and increase quality of the product for our customers. Each employee sends photos or videos to our Lean WhatsApp group everyday, I edit these into a daily video that we watch together every day in our morning meeting. I share these publicly here on UA-cam to hopefully help and inspire other businesses around the world, so watch this in your morning meeting and it will help start your own Lean journey and help create a continuous improvement culture!

A product born out of necessity! On our journey of eliminating waste and encouraging employee genius this is what can happen! We needed a automated welding solution, but faced high price quotes and long lead times so we designed our own! Designed a built for our own needs, which now has become a product. All made possible by our Lean Thinking! Thank you Paul Akers, 2 second Lean 😊😎

I forgot to include a version of this Improvement see it here : ua-cam.com/video/MoYBpW3tFXE/v-deo.html In this video, you will see a process that was once lengthy and time-consuming, now fully automated using our Nukeson HanBot Robot. By using this technology, it is now possible to produce 1000 tubes per day while saving 10 man-hours every week. It has taken us 7 years to arrive at this point,...

Genius! I've thought about this myself!
Very good! Today I've ordered peg boards for my office walls, and have been 3D printing holders for various items which don't have a place yet.
Time flies Jack yesterday just yesterday we was 21! now we are in our 40s TIME FLIES
Nice jack nearly as nice as your old 205 or Subaru lol
I can see the costs of these coming down in the near future. Then you could have one operator feeding multiple machines. That would increase the value of the worker and reduce boredom. You could also have a auto loader, then it could work 24/7!

This wasn’t staged at all 🙄🙄
That cowbell!!!!
The legend lives once again
Lucky ass
Wasn't the general a 68?
Collectors would pay top dollar for that! I’d say you found treasure!
Sad thing is that all these uneducated Karen's nowadays will never know what that car IS. They'll just give you hell over the flag.... Nice car, brotha
Now...where's the bridge to jump...or it's not real....lmao
Quanto costa?
So sexy
Not a barn find!!
General lee ven ami que hermoso auto ❤
I thought the robot would go faster, not that you'd speed up the video. HA ha ha
Awesome, you found a rare dead mice
Staged
😁 It's been in there 10 years
Jack, amazing content! I've binged all your videos over the past week and now looking heavily into the lean journey. We also use Trello for our software development and now adding hardware manufacturing into our business. A question I keep asking myself, how are you integrating the physical kanban system into electronic production workflow (Trello boards)? Do all the physical kanban's get collected, then the production workflow is dispatched via Trello, or are you using both physical and electronic at the same time (ie production has a physical Kanban AND Trello Kanban Card?
Why didn’t you save yourself a ton of time and money and just order the premade tubes from China to your exact specifications? The cost per tube would probably have been about 25 cents.
I like to manufacture in the UK, and also learn about automation
Like 🤟😎
pretty slick, but at 10 hours a week you must make a metric shit ton of those.
What are they for ?
Paper towel dispensers
Who knew paper towel tubes would be such an in demand product.
Looks good. Just needs some smoothing for the motions.
Thanks for the tip
This machine sparks joy. So good.
You lucky bastard
No dust 🤔
😁😁
The successful implementation of robots sure is captivating and beautiful to watch for many reasons, I understand, I also know how the world ends, so I'm not worried, BUT for this, man would quickly have no use, then, nor the robots any use for us as it is very obvious this would be the course - I hope it doesn't require explanation.
🥲
next step is to add QR kanban codes for re-order, etc.
nice end effector.
I would have thought it would be more cost effective to continue using the manual process...
It's a boring task for a human
@@JackBusseyUK 10 man hours a week though? 5 people 2 hours a day? Surely that would work out the cheaper option?
@@Fifury161 that's a good idea, but I wanted a learning experience too
Now the General Lee Charger is a real American muscle car. Not the crap Dodge has out now! Yeeeehhaa
Barn find my ass 😂
😁😁😁😂
Barn find more like spring cleaning
LOVE this automation. However, if you change the design you remove 75% of the steps and two loose parts... Instead of open sides for the pipe, close those side faces and make three U-shape cuts in each side, then bend in the "tabs" that are created. The shorter PVC would then be contained and vertically supported by the bent tabs, and wouldn't need branded end caps installed to limit side-to-side motion. Saves material also.
Thanks! That's a great idea, maybe I'll use that for next version 👍👍💡
it is ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING that you took a job that was done by a person and gave it to a robot. this is PURE GREED on your part and just shameful. you are a small business and you NEED to support your people and focus on making sure your employees have stable employment!!!!! your greed for money is disgusting. get rid of the robots and put people back in these jobs!!!
I saved an employee from spending 10 hours per week doing a boring job, they are now doing more enjoyable tasks like making other jobs more easier for employees by reducing the waste, you have no idea.
I think I would have used some sort of switch on the nozzle rather than using voice control for this.
Congrats. Looks amazing But, you make good money doing this ? Obviously I guess 😄 Nice to see British ingenuity 👍
keep it up and everyone will be unemployed. greed is quite the motivator for evil men.
I'm just removing a extremely boring job from a human
Great evolution of process but the laser without an enclosure and nobody wearing glasses is such an unnecessary health and safety risk. Put up some protective enclosure around the laser please.
The old machine is no longer used
